With festival season officially under way, one care home in Edinburgh is welcoming the community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration. This August, Care UK’s Murrayside, will open its doors to families and neighbours for a series of food festivals, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection. On Friday 7th August, from 1pm-3pm, Murrayside will be hosting its very own “Murrayfeast Festival”. As part of the event, visitors will be taken on a once-in-a-lifetime tour of flavours from around the world, complete with live entertainment and a special animal visit. The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like. Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
