About This Event

Lever harpist Lucie Hendry performs at the Traverse Theatre. Her work explores the space between genres and musical tradition.

Lever harpist Lucie Hendry exists in the space between genres, where tradition and musical curiosity intertwine with nature’s rich palette of colours and textures. Rooted in Scottish folk and shaped by the Nordic music scene, her music traces an organic, evolving journey that is richly layered, soulful, and immersive. Following the release of her debut solo album Land of Eden in 2023, Lucie is set to tour with her trio to celebrate her anticipated second album, Ashes to Art. The music reflects on life’s shifting seasons, mirrored in the natural cycles of woods, seas, and earth. Joined by Chris Amer (guitar) and Christoffer Skovhus (drums), the trio presents a distinctive blend of original folk infused with contemporary jazz influences. Balancing the delicacy of the harp with global musical influences, Lucie is carving out a distinctive artistic voice that is rooted in tradition, yet continually reaching toward new creative horizons.
