Morning — Departure from Edinburgh
Our Loch Lomond and the Highlands tour begins by leaving Edinburgh and travelling west towards Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, where wooded hills and sparkling lochs begin to shape the landscape.
Balmaha & Loch Lomond
Our route brings us to the shores of Loch Lomond , a beautiful loch immortalised in songs, poems and legend. Our first stop is the pretty village of Balmaha , with the option to take a morning waterbus (£14 per person) for a serene cruise across the loch. Gliding between tree-clad islands with Ben Lomond rising above the water, this is the ideal way to experience one of Scotland's most famous lochs.
Luss
Disembarking the boat, we arrive in the picturesque village of Luss , where stone cottages and colourful gardens line the streets. There's time here to enjoy lunch and take in the views before our journey continues into the Highlands.
Killin & the Falls of Dochart
Travelling north through beautiful scenery we arrive at Killin , where the spectacular Falls of Dochart tumble beneath an old stone bridge. A perfect spot for photographs.
Kilmahog — the Hairy Coos
We continue a little further and pause at Kilmahog for an encounter with some of Scotland's most beloved residents: Highland cows, or as locals affectionately call them, the 'Hairy Coos' . With their long shaggy coats and curved horns, these gentle giants are a living symbol of the Highlands.
5.30pm — Return to Edinburgh
After some final views of the Forth Bridges, we return to Edinburgh. Our tour concludes at the Cairngorms Coffee Shop by approximately 5.30pm.
