About This Event

The Fermenting & Pickling Workshop at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh on 8 August 2026 is part of the Botanics’ Gardener & Chef series. The session covers preserving home-grown produce.

Learn how you can make the most of the produce you grow in your own garden with the Botanics’ Gardener & Chef series, developed in partnership with Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy. In this class, you will be guided through our onsite Kitchen Garden by one of our garden experts to discover what’s in season, tips for growing locally, and how to be more sustainable in your home. This will be followed by a 90-minute demonstration of fermenting and pickling, led by a highly-skilled cookery teacher from Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy. Tasty treats will be included for your enjoyment and refreshment during the class.
