About This Event

Interested in learning to paint but don't know where to start? This class is ideal for those that want to learn the basics of painting. In this 8 week course you'll be looking at an array of subject matter such as landscape and nature as well as working from observation with still life. You will cover topics such as tone, composition and colour theory, and weather permitting there might be some afternoons out by the canal painting en plein air. You will have the opportunity to experiment with acrylic, gouache and watercolour as well as explore how we can mix paints with pencils, pastels, oil pastels, inks & collage to create mixed media artwork. This course is open to beginners and will encourage a playful approach to materials and encourage individual styles to develop and grow over the course. All materials and refreshments are included in the course price. If the class isn't full you are welcome to come along for a taster class for £32 (subject to availability).
