Bíonn Siúlach Scéalach - Culture Night 2026

This special Culture Night concert brings together members of several musical ensembles across Louth for a concert that will culminate in a premiere performance of a new composition entitled ‘Bíonn Siúlach Scéalach’ by Louth composer Daithí Kearney celebrating the Irish EU Presidency. The concert will feature performances by the Louth Chamber Orchestra, members of the Ardee Concert Band, and special guests. The programme will consist of a variety of pieces by inspired by folk and traditional music, including excerpts from ‘The Brigid Suite’ by Kearney and Adèle Commins, commissioned by Louth County Council for the Brigid1500 celebrations, and a piece composed by Kearney following a visit to Kenya that coincided with the 50th anniversary of EU-Kenya diplomatic relations, interspersed with poetry. This special Culture Night event celebrates local ensembles and composers, and the potential created by collaboration.
