On 27 September 2026, various performers will lead a 90-minute walking tour through Coventry Cross. Local historians Adam Wood and Laura Keep will guide participants in following the footsteps of kings and queens. The outing costs £10.00 per person and runs for approximately one and a half hours.

Join local authors and historians Adam Wood and Laura Keep for a 90 minute stroll through Coventry regal history, as they reveal some of the stories of royal visits to Coventry over the centuries.

From James II's famous custard mishap and Princess Elizabeth's narrow escape from the Gunpowder Plot, to Henry VI bringing the Crown Jewels to Coventry and George VI’s moving wartime visits to our blitzed city, this tour is the perfect way to explore Coventry’s unique, historic connection to the crown.

Meet Adam and Laura at the Coventry Cross, besides Primark at 10.30am. The tour is a gentle stroll, and takes 90 minutes. It ends at the Guildhall at noon.
