Early Years Assessment: Everyday Assessment - Supporting Learning and Smooth Transitions
This free workshop is for Coventry Early Years school staff and is suitable for ECTs, those staff new to Early Years or anyone who would like further guidance, support and professional conversations around assessment in the Early Years in schools.
These are DfE funded LA facilitated assessment sessions which will facilitate effective assessment support by sharing best practice, building practitioner confidence, and promoting consistent assessment by addressing misconceptions.
This session introduces how Reception teachers and other staff can use every day formative assessment to understand and support children’s learning, alongside effective transition practice into Reception.
The session will also focus on the importance of formative assessment and provide opportunities to reflect on current practice, considering how we can use both observation and data to support children’s learning, particularly by adapting practice based on that formative assessment. We will also consider how formative assessment information can be used to shape the environment.
The session is designed to be practical and provide opportunities for rich professional discussions and sharing of practice.
Please note, there are two sessions on offer. Staff only need to attend one of the sessions. Please book on to the one that is most convenient.
