COURSE OVERVIEW
Do you have a specific project you want to develop? Want to learn more about different funding sources? Need help on how to write proposals or funding application forms? If so this is the course for you!
For who?
This workshop is for anyone working in the creative industries whether you're a producer, musician, artist, actor, writer etc. who is interested in developing their projects but does not have experience of doing this. You will learn about different sources of funding, ways of finding funding towards a project and learn elementary skills required for writing proposals. No prior knowledge required. It will be useful if you can come along with a project/idea in mind but this isn't essential.

Before the course:
It would be beneficial if you could do some preparation work before the course, think of a particular project/idea you would like to develop or it could be something that you've already worked on.

By the end of the two workshop you should be able to:
research a range of funders to help you assess which, if any, are the best fit for you
write a suitable introductory paragraph (or more) that frames your proposal
identify how funders and assessors operate and the key processes commonly used by Lottery, Arts Organisations, Trusts and Foundations
analyse the diversity of your income streams and identify the potential for additional funding from a range of sources and types(eg earned income, crowdfunding, sponsorship)
identify language, writing style and jargon that may be suitable for you
Laura Drane is an arts and cultural producer, consultant and project manager, based in Cardiff, Wales and working across the UK.
For more than 20 years we have worked on a wide variety of projects across different art forms and sectors.
Some of our clients have included Voluntary Arts, Arts Council of Wales, Arts Council England, British Academy, Manchester International Festival, National Skills Academy, Natural Resources Wales, and more recently the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, plus many universities and local authorities.

A full refund will be issued to delegates who cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Delegates who cancel within the 2 week period will not be eligible for a refund unless we are able to find someone else to take their place. Please let us know as soon as possible if you find you're no longer able to attend the workshop.
