This National Poetry Day, join poet, literary critic, performing artist, and film maker Pelé Cox as she discusses the poetry and enigmatic lives of the timeless female poets Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Emily Dickinson.

The Women in Poetry series is a new collection from Gemini Books. Each volume of poetry contains over 100 poems and combines impactful pieces with insightful commentary that places them within their social, historical and personal content. Pelé Cox’s introductions provide an analysis of the more complex poems, allowing readers to gain a better understanding the poet’s life and works.

Pelé Cox is a poet, performance artist and film maker. She holds an MA in creative writing from the University of East Anglia, under the tutelage of Andrew Motion (then Poet Laureate). She has been Poet in Residence at Tate Modern, the Royal Academy of Arts, Keats-Shelley House and the British School at Rome, and is a visiting tutor at the University of Westminster, London. Her verse "Cento" appears as a frieze on the four walls of Building 7 at Chelsea Barracks, London. She also has a hugely popular podcast Pele’s Poetry Podcast which charts the history of poetry, great reading and writing practices.
