This walk winds through meadows and woods along the River Cam, passing through charming villages. Along the way, we’ll see the 17th century Hinxton Water Mill before crossing back into Duxford village by way of a ford. Keep an eye on the skies: Spitfires and other historic aircraft from nearby Duxford Aerodrome are often spotted overhead.

Cambridge feels close as the path passes through the Wellcome Genome Campus near Hinxton, where we may find ourselves mingling with students and staff out for a stroll.

After Whittlesford and another crossing of the Cam, we pass a popular walking spot at the impressive Dernford Reservoir, and then finally arrive into Great Shelford.
