About This Event

Cambridge Junction is set to present a fascinating work-in-progress performance on Thursday 3 September, featuring the talents of Frankie Thompson and Jonathan Oldfield. Jonathan Oldfield, a comedian whose sharp wit has earned him a place as a finalist in the prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and recognition as a creator for BBC Radio 4's *Time of the Week*, will be unveiling his debut character comedy show. Audiences can anticipate a delightful concoction of sheer silliness and genuinely unexpected humour as Oldfield delves into the multifaceted meanings of the word "corpse". His performance promises to be an engaging exploration of the subject, delivered with his unique comedic sensibility. The evening's proceedings are scheduled to commence at 7:30pm, and further details regarding ticket prices can be found on the Cambridge Junction venue's official website.

Jonathan Oldfield Jonathan Oldfield’s Exquisite Corpse. The Oxford English Dictionary describes a corpse as (1) a body or (2) spoiling a performance by laughing. Jonathan will be using both definitions in his highly anticipated debut show of exquisitely silly character comedy. Creator and star of BBC Radio 4’s award-winning Time of the Week. BBC New Comedy Awards finalist. Director of Lorna Rose Treen and Joe Kent-Walters. You also may have seen him in Star Wars: Andor or online in those sketches someone sent to you. ‘Brilliant’ (Observer) ‘Always funny’ ( Chortle.co.uk ) ‘Left me snorting with laughter’ (BroadwayWorld.com) Frankie Thompson Frankie Thompson collects horrible things. Things from down the back of the sofa and floating in her soup, things from the bins of people in power. From x-raying your mum’s daydreams and interviewing the walls of your dad’s shed (you don’t want to know), to things your uncle uploaded on YouTube in 2008 (you really don’t want to know). Find out if something horrible you’ve done is included, and come to the formal presentation of all horrible things thus far. If you laugh it’s comedy, if you don’t it’s performance art. ‘Wonderfully, confoundingly funny’ ★★★★ Guardian No booking fees when you become a Member
