ABRASIONS
3rd - 31st October 2026
THE EDGE CAFÉ, 351 Mill Road, Cambridge CB1 3DF
Open Mon - Fri. 08.00 - 16.00; Sat 09.00 - 16.00
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Edge Café on the Brookfields site, Ian Rawlinson presents his 10th solo exhibition at the café. After spending the last 14 years working on imagery inspired by places and memories from his past in Cambridge, and more recently North West Norfolk, his work is now evolving in different and as yet, unknown directions.
To conclude this period of work, Rawlinson will be exhibiting work from two recent series, 'Mere' and 'Butterfly'. The inspiration for this work comes from his writing, which explores connections between different areas of his East Anglian past. The process of making then fragments and distorts the imagery, revealing an abstracted sense of place.
The work is presented at the Edge Café, situated on the Brookfields Hospital site on Mill Road, Cambridge. The Edge Café is a community café and social enterprise working as a hub for recovery and positive change in Cambridge.
