About This Event

The 'When School Feels Too Hard: Supporting EBSNA at High Peak School' event will take place at High Peak School in Buxton on 2026-09-17. The event is free to attend and focuses on supporting children with EBSA.

Supporting children with EBSA: hear from our Headteacher, tour the school, meet the team and explore specialist support.

Supporting Children Experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)

If your child is finding it difficult to attend school due to anxiety, emotional wellbeing or other underlying needs, you're not alone.

Join us at High Peak School for an informative and supportive event designed for parents and carers of children experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). You'll hear from our Headteacher, who will introduce High Peak School's therapeutic RAISE Approach and share how we work with children and families to rebuild confidence, reduce anxiety and support successful engagement with education.

The event will also provide an opportunity to tour our school, meet members of our experienced team and ask questions in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Through real-life examples and practical insights, we'll explore the factors that can contribute to EBSA and discuss approaches that place relationships, emotional safety and individual needs at the heart of support.

Whether your child is currently out of school, struggling with attendance or finding education overwhelming, this event offers an opportunity to learn more about the support available and how specialist approaches can help children thrive.

During the event you will:

• Learn more about Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and its underlying causes.

• Hear about High Peak School's therapeutic RAISE Approach.

• Tour our specialist school environment.

• Meet our leadership team and specialist staff.

• Ask questions and discuss your child's needs.

• Find out how we work in partnership with families to support positive outcomes.

Who should attend? Parents, carers and family members of children and young people experiencing anxiety-related school attendance difficulties, emotionally based school avoidance or challenges engaging with education.
