On 21 September 2026, The Drawing Table hosts a collaborative evening at BRUSCO in Brighton where eight participants join around a single large sheet of paper to create a shared artwork. Priced between £22 and £25, this workshop-style event removes the pressure of artistic skill and invites various performers to facilitate the process. Attendees should expect a relaxed environment focused on group creativity rather than competitive drawing.
Eight people. One table. One enormous piece of paper. No pressure to be good at drawing.
The Drawing Table is a different kind of creative evening.
Eight people gather around one large sheet of paper to draw, experiment, talk and make something together.
You don't need to be an artist. You don't even need to think you're good at drawing. In fact, The Drawing Table was created especially for people who love art and creativity but don't always have the confidence, time or space to make it part of their lives.
I'll gently guide you through a series of playful drawing exercises designed to get you out of your head and into the act of making. There are no mistakes, no pressure to produce something "good", and no individual artworks to compare.
Instead, your lines meet other people's lines. Drawings overlap. Someone adds to something you've started. Colours spread across the paper. Slowly, eight individual contributions become one shared artwork.
You don't have to know what you're doing. That's rather the point.
Around the table at Brusco
The setting is an important part of The Drawing Table.
We'll be gathering at Brusco, an intimate, characterful space in Brighton that feels a little more like being invited somewhere special than arriving for an art class.
The table will be laid with flowers, interesting objects and beautiful materials, with music playing quietly in the background, drinks poured and everything ready for you to simply arrive and begin.
Warm, relaxed and just a little bit decadent, the atmosphere is deliberately designed to help you slow down, feel at ease and give yourself permission to create.
The evening
We'll begin by settling around the table with a drink. You'll choose an intention card for the evening and receive a small crystal to keep.
We'll start with a few playful drawing exercises to loosen up and take away some of that but I can't draw feeling.
Then we'll begin drawing together.
Flowers and objects arranged around the table will give us something to respond to, but there's no prescribed outcome. Prompt cards will appear throughout the evening to encourage you to experiment, move around the paper, respond to other people's marks and try things you might not normally do.
Later we'll introduce colour and allow the drawing to evolve.
There'll be time to chat, have something to eat, enjoy a cocktail, listen to the music and become completely absorbed in making something together.
And then we'll step back and see what eight people have created.
After the evening
The finished drawing doesn't simply disappear.
I'll divide the collaborative artwork into eight original pieces. Your piece will be carefully packaged and posted to you after the event.
You won't necessarily receive the section you personally drew.
That's intentional.
What arrives through your letterbox is a piece of something we made together.
Your ticket includes
A two-hour guided Drawing Table experience
A maximum of eight people
All drawing and art materials
Your intention card
A crystal to take home
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails (approx. 2 per person)
Light snacks
An original section of the finished collaborative artwork, packaged and posted to you after the event
