Lytham YMCA Senior Walking Football occurs on the outdoor 3G pitch every Wednesday 5-6pm - Session costs £5 please pay at reception.

We are a self-organised walking football group based in Lytham at the YMCA.

Our weekly session takes place at the YMCA on Mythop Road in Lytham on the outdoor 3g pitch each Wednesday between 5pm-6pm (Oct - March) and 6pm-7pm (April-Sept).

The cost is £5.00 and you can pay by cash or card on arrival at the YMCA reception.

Although aimed at senior players (50+) we welcome both men and women (18+) of all abilities.

Most of us have played both 11 and 5-aside competitive football at various levels. Being older we wish to carry on playing but in a way which is safer and enjoyable. The format which walking football provides also helps our general fitness and more importantly is fun. Therefore only minimum physical contact allowed and we are respectful of all players their abilities and of course their age.

If you have previously played before you probably have an idea of what walking football entails but apart from the walking element the pace of the game and speed of the ball doesn't change. Playing an hour of walking football is very energetic, probably more than you would expect and is physically demanding but ultimately you will discover that it is extremely rewarding.

Therefore ideally to play walking football you need to be in reasonable good shape and not carrying or recovering from injury. It is strongly recommend you wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the conditions. Players wear astro boots or suitable football trainers (See pics) and not soft trainers the ball is very hard.

Changing facilities are available but please arrive at least 15 mins before the session starts to pay and warm-up.
