The EcoPark Environmental Centre for Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust will host a free workshop on 5 September 2026 for young people aged 16 to 25. Join textile artist Kayleigh Davis for a creative workshop learning how to make natural dyes using plants. You'll discover which plants can be foraged for dye, discover how to extract the colours, and use techniques such as bundle dyeing, plant hammering and tie-dye to create a one-of-a-kind bag.
For young people aged 16-25.
Places are extremely limited. Please cancel your booking if you can no longer attend, so that someone else can experience this workshop.
Please note that lunch will be provided, please tell us any dietary requirements when booking your place.
Aprons and gloves will be provided, however you may also want to wear old clothes.
This is a Championing Nature event made possible by Wimbledon and Emirates.
How to get there?
Access to EcoPark is through the gates of Eden Girls Leadership Academy on Hob Moor Road. Press the 'EcoPark' button at the vehicle or pedestrian gate for access. There is parking available at EcoPark; drive through the school car park, down and to the right, and through EcoPark gates. Pedestrians should walk through the school car park, down and to the right and through EcoPark gates.
Public transport and active travel are strongly encouraged. The number 17 bus stops right outside the gates on Hob Moor Road, and there are cycle racks in EcoPark.
