This autumn, something extraordinary will unfold at Dorothy House in Winsley. From October to December 2026, as evening settles over the valley, the Hospice grounds will come alive with a breathtaking new large-scale light installation by internationally renowned artist and Dorothy House Ambassador, Bruce Munro. Known around the world for creating vast, immersive environments of light, he is offering the community a rare gift: the chance to step into a landscape transformed into a place of beauty, remembrance and hope. Visitors will be invited to wander among thousands of illuminated forms, each one glowing softly in the darkness - a constellation of light that seems to breathe with the landscape. Whether attending alone for reflection and remembrance, or as a family to experience the wonder of this world-exclusive artwork, all are welcome. The experience is designed to slow the world down, offering a moment to pause. Tickets: free, with donations welcome Tickets will be free, with visitors invited to make a donation. Every contribution will support the provision of free, personalised care for people in the last 1,000 days of life, as well as support for those who love them. Guests will also have the opportunity to dedicate a light on a Firefly - a meaningful way to honour someone special while contributing to a growing constellation of remembrance. The installation will serve as a temporary extension of the Firefly Woods. Moments of Light has been created as a gift to the community. Tickets are free to ensure that everyone can experience the event without financial barriers. As a charity, however, Dorothy House relies on the kindness and generosity of those who are able to give, and visitors are encouraged to make a donation if they can. Those who are able to contribute when booking their free ticket will be helping Dorothy House reach more people during the moments that matter most.
